Introduction

In the United States we tend to think that women should shave their underarm and leg hair off. We think it looks better, sexier, and that it is in some way more hygienic (although we don't think the same for men). However, much of the world does not expect women to shave their body hair, and even in the United States of the past, women didn't. Think of women in pioneer days, for example! But with a cheap water supply, and lots of different kinds of razors coming on the market for women, people's attitudes have changed, and now many, if not most, U.S. Americans are shocked to see women with underarm or leg hair in the U.S. Not so in Germany.
