Early Admission Program
The Early Admission Program
(EAP) at the University of Texas at Arlington is available to applicants
who wish to begin their college education following their sophomore or junior
year of high school.
Scholarships
UTA offers a number of scholarships and has a wealth of information on the
UTA Office of Financial
Aid and Scholarships Web site.
Advanced Placement Program (AP)
UTA accepts advanced placement credit from students who have passed the AP
exam in German:
- A level of 2 will provide students with credit for first year
German (up to 8 hours).
- A level of 3 will provide students with credit for third semester (11
hours).
- A level of 4 or 5 will provide students with credit for four semesters
(14 hours of credit).

College Level Examination Program (CLEP)
Students may test out of the first four semesters of German by taking the CLEP exam. Upon passing the examination, students can opt to take credit and a grade or credit only.
- Scores of 32–36 provide credit for German 1441.
- Scores of 37–51 provide credit for German 1441 and 1442.
- Scores of 52–70 provide credit for German 1441, 1442, 2313.
- Scores of 71–80 provide credit for German 1441, 1442, 2313, 2314.

- Laura Boyle teaches German at Pascal and South West High

- Cheyenne Herriman teaches German at Lee High School in Midland, Texas. - Bruce Horn got his teaching certification through UT Arlington. He teaches German at Nolan Catholic High School. I got some ideas I applied to my teaching methods, one of which has become tradition: Stammtisch!"

- Ben Hicks is traveling to Germany regularly, using his German in the real setting!
- Mike Dailey does translations for individuals and organizations.
- Megan Bartholomew quit her teaching job in order to pursue her Ph.D. in German.
- Teresa Jade, after receiving her degree in German, went
on to study linguistics and got a job in California in the Silicon Valley
using linguistics in her work.
