UTA-Affiliated Study Abroad Programs in German Available to All Students
- Opportunities: Study abroad opportunities in Austria are
available to all UTA students, whether or not they possess proficiency in
the German language. Students are placed at their level of competence in
language courses (beginning to advanced). Some topics courses (business,
history, literature, political science, etc.) are taught in English.
- Finances: Through an affiliated program here at UTA, students can use financial aid and receive residential credit when studying for a summer, a semester, or a year in Salzburg, Austria. Students are also encouraged to apply for the UTA International Education Fee Scholarship.
Find the Program that is Right for You
- The UTA Office of International
Education will work with students to find the program right for each
student, as well as financial aid and scholarships of which each student
might take advantage.
- Students can also contact the Head of the German Section, Dr. Lana Rings
(rings@uta.edu).

- Sister
Cities: Arlington and Bad Königshofen
We are developing the personal
touch to establishing friendships abroad. Through Arlington's sister city
of 50+ years, Bad Königshofen, a beautiful
town in northern Bavaria, we are in the process of developing the possibility
of exchange programs, with the goal of lifelong friendships and contacts.
Like Texas, Bavaria is a large state, and again like Texas, it has its own
unique way of seeing itself in relationship to the rest of the country. If
you are interested in having the red carpet laid out for you because you
are from Arlington or, by extension, from UTA, and in turn hosting someone
from Germany, contact the head of the German Section, Dr. Lana Rings (rings@uta.edu).
You can see the Bad Königshofen monument in downtown Arlington next
to the Arlington Art Museum on Main Street just north of UTA.
- Sister Cities: Fort Worth and Trier
"Since
the beginning, joint efforts with Trier, Germany, have sparked diverse and
bountiful exchanges for hundreds of people. Examples include music and dance
performances, bands; ... university level exchanges; cultural exchanges featuring
regional cuisine and customs. ... This relationship also features annual
student exchanges and an active intern program between the two cities."

sister Cities Web site.
