Moodle-powered LACWAP
Moodle-powered LACWAP is a password-protected learning management system through which language students can access the digital materials (audio, video, images, or text) and online quizzes developed by their language instructors.
Moodle-powered LACWAP can be accessed from any computer with an Internet connection. If your course requires video or audio, bandwidth is a consideration. Because of the bandwidth needed for streaming media, UTA campus computers may be more reliable than some home computers with potentially busier or slower connections.
Please check the OIT pages on the UTA Web site for alternative computer labs should you need to work in a public lab outside of LAC hours. When accessing audio and video in a public lab, please take headphones with you (the LAC computer stations include headphones).
To access Moodle-powered LACWAP:
- Go to http://langlab.uta.edu/ .
- Select MODL Moodle from the menu on the right.
- Enter your NetID and password (what you would use to check your UTA e-mail account), unless otherwise directed by your instructor.
- Select your language from the menu on the left.
-
Select your class to access the online
materials.

200 Trimble Hall
200 Trimble Hall is a special use smart classroom. Students often give PowerPoint presentations in this room.
Unlike the regular classrooms, 200 Trimble Hall has a Mac instead of a Windows computer. Presentations created in MS PowerPoint for Windows typically work on PowerPoint for Mac. However, be aware that some animations, fonts, embedded audio or embedded video may not display or function properly without some modifications.
For classes with frequent student presentations in 200 Trimble Hall, the teacher often arranges a time for an LAC representative to help with copying the presentations to the classroom computer. Presentations can also be tested on the iMacs in the LAC.
Alternatively, you can bring a laptop with which to do a presentation and use the laptop cables to connect it to the 200 Trimble Hall podium.

No Course-Specific Information
Sometimes, the LAC receives questions such as "What's my homework assignment?" or "How do I get a username and password for my Quia exercises?" In such situations you really need to go to your teacher because we cannot help you with class specific inquiries.
For tutoring, we suggest you consult SOAR (on the first floor of Hammond Hall) or your instructor.
If you ever have a question, comment, or suggestion for the LAC, please let us know!
