Melissa Bowden
Director of the Language Acquisition Center
Melissa Bowden earned an MA in French from Middlebury College and a BA in French and English from Duke University. After working at the French Government Tourist Office and Société Générale French Bank, Ms. Bowden began teaching French at the high school level. Subsequently, she became coordinator and teacher of First Year French at Southern Methodist University where she focused on the incorporation of technology into foreign language instruction. Interested in instructional technology, she developed online courses at the UTA Center for Distance Education before coming to the Department of Modern Languages in Fall 2005.
