Bachelor of Arts in Russian

Requirements for a Major

English: 6 hours of composition.
Literature: 3 hours of English or modern and classical languages literature or other approved substitute.
Liberal Arts Elective: 3 hours above the freshman level of literature, or social and cultural studies designated as taught in the College of Liberal Arts, or fine arts or philosophy, or technical writing.
Political Science: 2311, 2312.
History: 1311, 1312.
Mathematics: 6 hours (level of college algebra or higher).
Natural Science: 8 hours in a single lab science (biology, chemistry, geology, or physics).
Fine Arts: 3 hours from architecture, art, dance, music, or theatre arts.
Social/Cultural Studies: The Social and Cultural Studies requirement will be satisfied by designated courses, which have been approved by the Undergraduate Assembly. For a list of approved courses, contact the University Advising Center or the student's major department.
Electives: Sufficient number of hours to complete the total hours required for a degree.
Russian: 1441, 1442, 2313, 2314, or equivalent; plus 24 hours at 3000/4000 level in Russian, at least 9 of which must be at the 4000 level.
Minor: 18 hours, at least six of which must be 3000/4000 level.
Electives: Sufficient to reach the total of hours required for the degree.
Total: 120 hours, at least 36 of which must be 3000/4000 level.

A minor in Russian consists of 18 semester hours (excluding 1441), at least 9 of which must be beyond 2314 at the 3000 or 4000 level.

Note that 2314 must be passed with a grade of C or better before 3000 or 4000 level classes can be taken.
